Maintained, not just owned
Both vehicles run on the same principle as everything else on this site. Service happens on an interval, not when something starts making a noise. Consumables get replaced before they fail rather than after. Every piece of work goes into a log with a date and an odometer reading.
None of that is enthusiast theater. It is the cheapest way to own a vehicle, and it is the only way to know whether a problem is new.
